Agency launches SMS job alert service
By Dinah Greek [30-09-2002]
Users receive text messages on specific vacancies
Employment agency TextMeAJob.com is offering mobile phone SMS alerts on specific vacancies, tailored to an individual job seeker's requirements.

The jobs currently on offer seem to be skewed heavily towards the IT sector but, if the service is a success, the site's owners could open it up to a wider range of opportunities.

Users can stipulate the type of job they are looking for, where in the UK they are looking to work and when the corresponding vacancies arise, and receive the details on their mobiles.

Each message received will cost 25p, and users can decide for themselves how much they wish to spend on seeking out their new career by choosing how many notifications they wish to receive per week.

O2, Orange and Vodafone UK customers can already sign up for the service, but T-Mobile and Virgin customers will have to wait a few more weeks.
